The need of going back to the roots.
On the recent and current times, the best is going back to the roots; to have cristal clear what is the important, the relevant, and what is not. My first post on this blog is about the Spanish political party Partido Popular, from now on PP.
Whenever I met somebody with big doubts and concerns about the future, on the professional or on the personal side, I always ask the same question: “What do you want to be? Where are you coming from?” The second question is the key. Nobody can propose himself nothing if he (or she) does not know if he can reach it, but nobody can reach his goals if he is not consistent with what he has been on the past. On the professional world this is called “culture”, and there are some clear examples about decissions associated with a bad understanding of the different actors on an organization. On the personal life, this is highly appliable.
And… What about policits? Well, absolutely. On the past weeks we have been looking to a curious exercise on the PP about names and posts. But, what it really matters, is to understand the way the PP has been walking, not only on the last four years. It is imperative to answer the second question above: “Where are you coming from?”. The people that Mr. Rajoy and Mrs. Sáenz de Santamaría had choose for lead the PP on the diferent forums are, frankly speaking, suprising. But the debate does not need to be done about names, as I said. The debate needs to be about what are the origins, the roots of the PP, and its path, and its principles. And to act in consequence.
But almost nobody is doing this. The only concern on the “barones” (the regional leaders of the PP) is to avoid the candidature of Mrs. Esperanza Aguirre. The only concern is to keep their own parcel of power. And, in the meantime, the PP is bleeding in front on the public opinion, bleeding because of the power the socialists have on the media, but also because this is a false debate around names.
The real debate, the one that nobody wants to talk about, it is about the roots. Let the PP talk about the roots, the ideology, the proposal to the Spanish society. And avoid the debate about names.
