The revenge of the mediocre

Mr. Rajoy decided who will be on the steering committee of the PP. He made the choice. And in this committee there are important people, well considered people. But there are also come other people who are not that way. Mr. Rajoy decided the people on the steering committee, but he, as a mediocre one, decided based on his future, and not on the PP future.

While Mrs. Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría speech was merely an exercise of emptiness, with empty phrases and without an ideological depth, the speech of Mr. Rajoy yesterday was simply an exercise of pretentiousness. For various reasons. But I was looking to a reference of those who are very valuable on the PP, but for some reasons, confronted him, or in some other way, were disappointed with him. Mr Rajoy did not do any mention to María San Gil or José Antonio Ortega Lara. And this, on people who were daily risking their lives, not like him, on the Basque Autonomic Region. Them, and also the others in those territores, are to be praised and, overall, honored. Not only on a general basis, also by mentioning them.

This, together with damning the liberals on the new steering committee, is an example of his “talante” (mien), a word used by another person with lack of mien: Mr. Zapatero. Mr. Rajoy, by damning the liberals such as Mrs. Esperanza Aguirre, president of the Madrid Autonomic Region, is condemning us, the liberals, to denying the confidence on him. By damning Mrs. Esperanza Aguirre, is damning me, and most of the votes from Madrid. And I do nor deserve this from any person, including the leader of the political party I voted to.

The good managers, the good leaders, are those who, in order to achive their goals or their organization’s goals, are counting on everybody in this trip. The mediocres are only counting with their unconditionals, and rewarding only them. People who are able to stab a knife on his back when the bad times are coming. Mr. Rajoy is not a good leader. He is a mediocre one. A mediocre who revenges on the ones who defended the principles of the PP. A mediocre who did not won nothing, and who will not nothing.
